A little gem in the heart of the swiss mountains: The Alpina Gstaad
The Alpina Gstaad might just be the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. It's honestly quite rare for us to go to a hotel to actually enjoy the hotel itself - see what I mean? It's always nice to be staying in a beautiful hotel but it's usually the "side" of the trip, we go somewhere and then pick a hotel but it's not the main purpose of the trip, you see?
But with The Alpina Gstaad it's different - you go to Gstaad to stay at The Alpina. Really. It's such an experience, it's like escaping your reality to enter a world of cocooning and wellness. Between the incredible spa, the heated outside pool, a private cinema and the three incredible restaurant the hotel has to offer, there are a million different things to try and experience in the hotel, all of this while enjoying a relaxing retreat in the heart of the swiss mountains.
The hotel is also filled with art works, as the owner is very much into contemporary art - in every corner you can see a unique piece, some of them very calming, some of them more intriguing or even sometimes a little provocative. As an art lover myself, this is one of the things I enjoyed the most about this hotel, the uniqueness of the place and of its interior decoration :)
I hope you guys will like these few pictures of The Alpina Gstaad - we were very lucky to be staying in one of their biggest suites, and gosh... it was amazing. I feel so lucky and grateful to have had the chance to experience this and I hope that I can share a little bit of this dream of a weekend with you guys through these pictures.
On our first night we got the chance to have dinner at Megu, a super famous japanese restaurant initially from New York - needless to say that it was delicious! They had even prepared a special veggie menu for me, such a lovely attention :)
Blogging by the fireplace, quite a dream if you ask me..
We also got to shoot in the Panorama Suite, which is the hotel's biggest and most luxurious suite. Two floors, sleeps six, with a private massage room and fitness centre..
One of the coolest details of the hotel: it actually features many old pieces of furniture from the area, that were restored and put in the various rooms and suites. Quite unique and very thoughtful right?
We also got to try the Six Senses Spa and one of their signature treatments... Once again it was a pure dream! So. Relaxing.
On our second night in Gstaad we got to discover Le Sommet, which is a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel.. It was a wonderful evening, with lots of delicious food, red wine, Christmas lights, and of course snow falling right outside the window...
The breakfast, once again incredibly good and photogenic ;)
