While on holidays I started reading a book called The Opposite of Loneliness. It’s a collection of short stories written by former Yale student Marina Keegan – and it was SO GOOD. Her writing is so pure and genuine. I found the stories to be entertaining, but also a little bit more than that. Keegan managed to transcribe feelings on the paper like very few authors do – she put words on emotions so real yet so hard to define.
My favorite essays of hers are The Opposite of Loneliness (which gave its title to the book) and Why we care about whales. It was a bit of a bittersweet discovery, as Keegan sadly passed away a few years ago.. She was so young, and I am sure she would have been an amazing author – the few pieces of work she left behind are incredibly good and unique.
Anyway, I just thought I’d share these with you guys, because I really enjoyed reading them and I thought you might too :)
