my 5 tips for being more relaxed when you travel
Travelling is so cool but so stressful as well, right? As much as I LOVE discovering new places and meeting new people, sometimes the idea of leaving my little nest behind, even if it is just for a few days, makes me super stressed. I know that many of you guys are quite anxious as well when you travel, so I thought I'd share a few tips on how to be a bit more relaxed.
1 - TRAVEL CHECKLIST
I always forget at least one thing when we go away. Sometimes it's make up remover, most of the time it's my toothbrush. I actually recently decided to create my own, personalized travel check list with absolutely EVERYTHING I need to take with me when I travel - and without patting myself on the back too much, I feel like this is a genius idea! Now I just have to print it every time I need to pack and make sure I have everything :)
2 - EMAIL YOURSELF YOUR IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
I actually read this in a travel guide and I think it is such a good idea as well. One of the most stressful things that could happen to you when you travel (in my opinion at least) is to lose / get your important documents (such as passport, credit cards, etc) stolen. Going back home without a passport can be quite tricky, and if you simply scan it before leaving and email it to your own email address (so you can access it from any computer wherever you are) it will make your life a LOT easier in case of a tiny catastrophe.
3 - KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PLACE WITH LOGI CIRCLE
When Logi Circle contacted me to introduce their new product, I immediately liked the concept. Ever since we got burglarized when I was little, I am always super scared of people breaking in into my home when I'm away. It's not so much about the things they would take, but more about the discomfort of having someone rummaging through your personal belongings and stepping on your privacy. With Logi Circle you can keep an eye on your place even when you're away - this handy little security camera allows you to check on your place thanks to an app you an install directly on your phone, and it even sends you notifications if it notices an unusual activity. Talk about a relieving little device!
4 - CREATE A GOOD PLAYLIST FOR THE TRIP
Music is oh so important when I travel! I always make sure to have my favorite playlists ready and I also recently received a pair of noise cancelling headphones, which actually makes a huge difference! I tend to be quite anxious when on a plane (not really scared of dying but I'm a bit claustrophobic) and being in a little bubble with my favorite songs and no other noises (I'm looking at you, screaming baby two rows behind me) makes it a lot easier.
5 - BE PREPARED WITH YOUR LUGGAGE
And by that I mean, if you travel with a checked luggage make sure to have a few necessities with you, in your carry-on. Trust me. It may seem trivial but if the airline happens to lose your luggage, you'll be SO happy to have a change of underwear and your toothbrush with you (toothbrush that by the way you did NOT forget to pack, thanks to your new bff: travel checklist)
And that's it! I really hope that with these few tips will help you guys feel more relaxed when you travel. I personally think that with just a few, easy things you can really make a difference and make the whole process a lot less stressful :)
Thank you for stopping by today guys, lots of love x
