Make your home ready for spring
Each change of season is the occasion for a fresh start. I don’t know about you, but I am personally super excited every time a new season is approaching, and even though I wouldn’t say spring is my favorite season (I’m an autumn girl) I am still pretty happy to see it is just around the corner!
For me, each new season is the occasion to look back on the past few months, acknowledge what happened in my life, remind myself of the things I need to work on and more generally, to reflect on myself and on where I want to go in life. In doing this, I realized over the years that physically responding to this change by switching a few things in my home and making room for new things really helps me moving on. This is the reason why each time the season changes I always book some time in my schedule to clean up my place and I allow myself to shop for a few new bits to add to my decoration.
When it comes to spring, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously flowers. I’m super lucky to be living quite close to a really nice florist and I usually treat myself every other week or so with a beautiful bouquet of fresh scented flowers. It may seem trivial but it is actually amazing the difference nice flowers on your table or in your kitchen make to your home – I personally love it.
I’m also a huge lover of candles and even though some people may associate them with winter, I personally burn candles all year round. The secret if you want to light candles in your home during spring or summer time is to look for fresh, flowery scents. I am personally a big fan of fig scented candles (they are my fave) and I recently bought an eucalyptus one that was really nice as well!
Finally, the last touch for a fresh, welcoming spring home is a little bowl with a few chocolates! You guys know me, I cannot go a day without having a little bit of chocolate and I feel like there’s something so lovely about having a few sweet treats available for anyone visiting your place.
Lindor recently launched the 70% cacao balls (in addition to the already existing 60% ones) and I have to say that as much as I love the original red ones, as a dark chocolate lover these two stole my heart. I recently bought these bee mugs with the matching saucers and even though I did initially plan on using them for tea, I actually think they look super cool as a chocolate display! Kind of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, don’t you think?
Now if you’ve been following these little posts with Lindor for a while, you know that I wouldn’t leave you without a few cool songs to listen to! So here is my go-to spring playlist:
James Bay – Wild Love (Acoustic)
Fleetwood Mac – The Chain
Broken Back – Young Souls
The Lumineers – Stubborn Love
Neil Young – Heart of Gold
Simon & Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson
