Hey Autumn
It is no secret for those around me that autumn is my favourite season. As much as I love summertime, whenever it starts to feel like autumn is around the corner, I find myself craving for long walks in the forest and quiet moments in nature. As author F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, "life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall."
Once autumn has arrived I often find myself craving for the peacefulness of being alone in nature, and I find going for long walks by myself very therapeutic and calming. It is so easy, in our fast paced, modern lives to lose touch with the universe. Most of us are living in big cities, working around the clock, always running from one place to another, and when we finally have some time off, we often spend it looking at other people's lives through our little screens. Don't get me wrong, I am not judging - in fact, I am myself guilty of this exact behaviour more often than not.
Over the past few months however, I have been learning to be more in touch with the world around me, with nature, the universe, the stars, the animals, other human beings, and myself. It may sound silly but taking the time to breathe in, breathe out, and be in the moment, feel the connection with everything around you feels better than you could ever imagine.
So here's my advice for you, if you're feeling a bit down, stressed out, overwhelmed: take some time for yourself. Get out of your comfort zone, go back to nature, feel the connection. Walk barefoot in the grass, close your eyes in the middle of a forest to listen to the sound of nature, look up at the stars and allow the universe to heal you.
You can also make a day of it, take the day off work, grab your favourite book, a box of Lindor chocolates (of course) and a cozy blanket and go spend a few hours in the wild. Trust me, it will make you feel incredible. There is nothing like spending the day outside, breathing fresh air, and feeling the connection.
